Watch: tempo haptics, duration and rest countdowns

The watch gains distinct haptics for each tempo phase, a duration-countdown ring for holds, and a numeric rest countdown — while staying HR-centric.

What shipped

  • Tempo haptics. Distinct taps at each phase boundary on rep sets — .directionDown for the eccentric, .click for pauses, .directionUp for the concentric. On by default.
  • Duration countdown. For duration-based exercises the wrist shows a coral progress ring and the remaining seconds.
  • Rest numeric. During rest the watch shows the seconds counter; the last three tick with .directionUp and zero fires .notification.
  • HR-first still. The watch continues to default to the HR + elapsed layout whenever it’s not actively timing something.

Why

The phone sits on a tripod. The wrist is where tempo, duration, and rest timing actually need to be felt.
